East Montgomery Elementary Archery Team

The East Montgomery Elementary Archery Team, made up of 24 4th and 5th graders, is part of the National Archery in Schools Program. Thanks to a grant from TWRA, the school is able to provide the equipment necessary to introduce students to the sport of archery. East Montgomery has finished top 10 in the state for the past 3 years, and hopes to win the state competition this Friday in Murfreesboro. According to coach Jared Hill, being on the team encourages and motivates the kids to keep their grades up and provides a chance for kids who may not be interested in traditional team sports to participate.
